Types of insulation-"Securing Homes Throughout the Year"
Types and descriptions: Blanket insulation: The materials used are fiberglass, rock or slag, wool, plastic fibers and the natural fibers. This can be adjusted in the walls, floors and the ceilings. This can be installed between studs, joists and beams. Concrete Block insulation: the materials are beads of polyurethane, polystyrene and polyiso. These are adjusted between the foundation walls during the new constructions or renovations. This can be installed only with the help ion the masons. Rigid Foam: it is made of polystyrene. This can be fitted in the unfinished walls, foundation walls, floors and ceilings. The exterior application is covered with a weatherproof board and the interior with gypsum. Insulating concrete forms (ICFs): This is made of the foam blocks. This can be installed in the wall cavities, unfinished attic and the hard to reach places. This is generally blown in places with the help of special equipment. Reflective System: this is made of the plastic film, polyethylene bubbles and cardboard. This can be inserted in the unfinished walls, ceilings and floors. The rigid fibrous or the fibrous insulation: This is made of the fiberglass mineral and the wool. This is generally placed in the unconditioned places that need to be kept warm. The HVAC contractors insert it. The Sprayed foam and the foam in place: This is made of polyurethane. This can be placed in the cavities and the attic floors. This is fitted by using small spray containers or as large quantities as per the pressure applied. The Structural Insulated Panels (SIP): this is made of the foam board or the insulation core. This can be well inserted in the unfinished walls, ceilings, floors, roofs required in any new construction. The builder does this. Advantages: The SIP built houses has the superior and uniform insulation. These take less time to build. The rigid fibers can withstand the heavy and adverse temperature conditions. The reflective system prevents the downward flow of heat. The ICFs has a high thermal efficiency. The foam board can restrict the thermal short circuits. The blanket is free from any obstruction and can be built easily.

Asbestos Insulation Asbestos insulation, although not in use these days, is a material that has properties such as being fireproof, resistant to chemical wear and tear and also known for its good thermal and electrical insulation properties. Where was asbestos... Electrical Insulation An insulator is a material or object that contains no movable electrical charges when used along with live electrical appliances. When a voltage is placed across an insulator, no charges flow, so no electrical current appears. Electrical insulation... Foam Pipe Insulation Pipe insulations are a specially formulated flame retarded closed cell foamed polyolefin tube with excellent thermal insulating capabilities. The pipe insulation is economically priced and is available in a wide array of sizes. Foam pipe insulation... Home Insulation Home insulation is important for comfortable living and utilizing energy resources in an efficient manner. Home insulation is best carried out while the house is still under construction as this gives superior insulation benefits. However,... House Insulation House insulation improves the energy efficiency of appliances in the house and also helps cut down on utility bills. There are many options available among insulation materials and the techniques used for insulation. Also, different areas in the... Insulated Windows Home insulation requires one or many insulation systems to be installed at the same time. Insulated windows are ideal insulation systems when the home does not have insulation installed at the time of construction or the homeowner only requires... Insulated Wire Insulated wires are mainly used in the electronics and telecommunication industry. Use of insulated wires in home appliances is also on the increase. The safety and quality of signal transmission through insulated wires is much higher than those... Insulation Blanket Insulation blankets provide insulation cover to large sized equipment. Made from the same material as that used in thermal insulation products, insulation blankets are specific to the design and structure of the equipment that they provide... Pipe insulation In order to prevent the heart passage from steam and hot water pipes to the surrounding air or from the surrounding air to cold water lines serves as the main purpose of the insulation of the pipes. This has proved very efficient in the matter of... Vermiculite insulation It is an insulation product that contains mineral called vermiculite that comes from mines in Libby, Montana and other mines crosswise the United States and other countries.
