These stanchions are to be insulated and it is to be applied to flat plate surfaces and covers beams, stiffeners, webs and girders. The insulation on the vertical surfaces are to be applied 6-inches above the deck and is to be extended to the overhead, except insulation installed on boundaries of magazines are to be applied from deck to overhead.


Fire block test

The fire block test was undertaken to compare the fire stalking abilities of dry applied and moist spray applied cellulose insulation and spruce-pine-fir wood blocking. The fire blocking materials required for this evaluation included two layers of lumber, dry and moist spray applied cellulose insulation.
