However, they need to be sharpened after a couple of years to maintain their sharpness. There are many different ways of sharpening the blades. The simplest way is by rubbing the sharp edge of the trowel or fork on sandpaper. Other methods like hand filling or electric grinding can also be effectively used. The best way of avoiding any problem is however is by prevention. The hand trowels should be cleaned of any left over mud or other particles as soon as the job is done. You can also use a lubricant for cleaning purposes. Proper Storage of garden trowels and forks is however very necessary if you have small children or pets.
