Garden pruners
Types of garden pruners available Garden pruners are basically operated by hands. Generally all the garden pruners available are operated by hands barring a very few. They are basically of three types. The first one and the most popular one is the bypass pruners. The bypass pruner consists of two curved blades bypassing each other in the same manner as the scissor. One blade is sharpened on the outside edge and it slips by a thicker unsharpened blade. Next is the anvil pruners consisting of single straight cutting blade closing down on a flat edge or anvil. The action of the anvil pruners is very similar to the knife cutting against the cardboard. These types of pruners are generally used for removing dead woods. They are a bit bulkier than the bypass pruners thus are not given preference over the bypass pruners. The last one is the ratchet pruner. This is similar to the anvil pruners in structure but differs in their action. They actually perform the cutting operation in stages. Ratchet pruners offer great leverage to the hands especially if they are weaker. They even save energy and prevent a person from straining while carrying out gardening for a longer duration. Various people have varied choice in terms of the garden pruners, which is based on their comfort level with the particular type of garden pruner. Usage of the pruner Pruners are basically used to trim or prune the plants in the garden. It is also being used for removing the dead plants or woods from the garden. It is generally used for the woody stems because the woody stems cannot be operated upon by the normal scissors or the knife. It is hand held tool and comes with comfortable grips, which makes it easy to hold. The blades are of stainless steel in nature making them durable. Garden pruners are there to give shape to the garden for enhancing its beauty, which could not be achieved by the normal scissor or knife. Thus they are simply indispensable to any handyman.
