Fireplace blowers

A fireplace blower is used to distribute the air from the fireplace throughout the home. Depending upon where the fireplace blower is placed, the entire room or all the rooms of the house can get the air from the fireplace. A fireplace blower is very much necessary if you intend to heat up a large sized room or many rooms in the house.

How does a fireplace blower work?

The heat that is generated from the fireplace tends to stay in the area surrounding it and the middle or the outer parts of the room or other rooms do not get any significant change in temperature. A fireplace blower takes care of this problem by evenly distributing the air around the room or in the other rooms as well. The blower must be placed in the right position according to the requirements. Placing it right in front of the fire will help heat up only the room. Placing it in the doorway will help heat up several rooms in the house.

Installing a fireplace blower

Fireplaces are usually provided with an electrical junction box with power of 110VAC. This would make it easier to install a fireplace blower. In case, power was not provided while installing the fireplace, you can still install a fireplace blower. Only in this case, it would prove expensive. A fireplace blower is recommended right at the time of building a fireplace. If you want the circulation of air in all the rooms of your house from the one fireplace in a particular room, it is very much advisable to get a fireplace blower installed at the beginning itself.

Why is a fireplace blower so important?

A fireplace blower will not affect the combustion rate of the fire in the fireplace and is only meant to blow the air around so that the heat is circulated in all the rooms of the house. In case the room in which the fireplace is located is large, a blower will be very beneficial. Different models and types of blowers to suit your budget are available in the market. You need to choose from amongst these keeping in mind the requirements of your home.
