However, before you go shopping there are certain shortcomings that you should know about, the disadvantages of compost tumblers depend a lot on the type of tumbler you are using. On the whole, compost tumblers are comparatively expensive devises. They require frequent turning for them to be effective. The size is also an issue as tumblers tend to be quiet small. Also you may have to wait for the first batch of finished compost to make new one.

However, a little thinking, planning and skill can solve these difficulties effectively. Besides, the rate of composting sure balances most of the disadvantages effectively.
