Compost makers and operations:

There are several operations for which you may require certain equipments. For chipping and shredding the material, you can require tub grinder and trommel screens. They can shred any organic material in uniform bits. For blending the material you can use motorized versions of cranked and tumbled turners. Different equipment is also used for turning like windrow turning system. It is clear that for each operation different and highly sophisticated equipments can be used.

Advantages of compost makers:

The biggest advantage is the time. Using compost makers decreases the time involved in composting; this is an added advantage when compost is required commercially. Compost makers manage to control all-important elements of composting thus leading to better quality compost. The job becomes easy and the process of composting hastens up. They also control odour and offer weather protection.

Disadvantages:

The biggest disadvantage is the cost attached to the equipments. As each operation requires different material, the cost rises and so does the management. Compost equipments can also take up a lot of space.

Despite the disadvantages, very few will go in for composting without using one or more of the compost makers.
